Ekiti: Amotekun nabs 50-year-old fake new naira notes peddler

Celestine Nwoha, a 50-year-old man alleged of peddling fake new naira notes has been apprehended in Ekiti.
Mr Nwoha was nabbed by the operatives of the Amotekun Corps following intelligence.
Commandant of the Amotekun Corps in the state, Joe Komolafe, told reporters on Tuesday that the suspect was arrested in Omuo Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area of the state.
“The suspect went to the local area in Omuo and started spending the money before we got a hint and went after him.
“He said he specialises in buying bitter Kola saying he was also paid with the cash in Lagos,” Mr Komafe added.
He, however, urged members of the public to be careful especially during the current cash crunch so as not to fall victim to fraudsters.
“The command will hand him over to the police for further investigation and prosecution,” he added.
During interrogation, the suspect claimed he was given the sum of N250,000 fake money at a factory in Lagos “but only N100,000 was found with me as I have spent some of it.”
