Ekiti: Gunmen kidnap four-year-old boy, father escapes

Suspected gunmen have kidnapped a four-year-old boy, Oluwadarasimi Omojola, but his father, Boluwaji Omojola, managed to escape on Itaji/Ijelu-Ekiti Road in the Oye local government area of Ekiti.
The boy was returning from Ayede-Ekiti with his father when they were attacked. The father sustained severe injuries.
The traditional ruler of the community, Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ogundeyi, confirmed the attack on Saturday. He said the incident happened on Friday, at about 6:00 p.m. The traditional ruler explained that the injured farmer was receiving medical attention at an undisclosed facility.
Mr Ogundeyi added that security operatives and local hunters had been mobilised to hunt down the kidnappers to rescue the boy.
The police spokesman in Ekiti said the command had yet to confirm the attack.
