A 40-year-old man, Akomolafe Tola, was on Thursday charged before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court over alleged assault.
The defendant, whose address was not stated, is standing trial on a three-count charge of assault and breach of peace.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 13, at about 10:00 a.m. at the Oye Magisterial District in Oye-Ekiti.
Mr Oriyomi alleged that the defendant assaulted Aminu Sunday and Adejoke Abiodun and caused them harm.

The offences contravene the provisions of sections 181(1)(d) and 186 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until July 16, for hearing.
