The Speaker Ekiti House of Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye, has rejoiced with Muslims in Nigeria, particularly those in Ekiti, on the celebration of 2022 Eid-el-Fitr.

Mr Afuye urged Muslim faithful to imbibe and allow the lessons learnt during the Ramadan fasting to reflect in their daily life.

The Ekiti Assembly’s speaker made this on Monday in his congratulatory message to Islamic adherents in Ado-Ekiti.

Mr Afuye thanked the Almighty Allah for granting Muslim faithful, particularly those in Ekiti the grace to witness the 2022 Ramadan fasting and completing it without hitch.

The speaker, therefore, prayed for continued peaceful coexistence among the various religious sects in the state.

Mr Afuye described Ekiti Muslims as partners with their Christian counterparts, and said “Ekiti people are not known for religious intolerance.”

He, therefore, boasted that there can not be a breakdown of laws and orders as a result of religious crises.

He urged Muslim faithful to use the end of 2022 Ramadan celebration to pray for Ekiti as it is about to elect its new leaders.

“I urge our muslim brothers and sisters to use this occasion to vote the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure continuity of Gov. Kayode Fayemi’s good works in Ekiti,” he said.
