#EkitiDecides: EFCC nabs APC agent for buying votes at polling unit
Anti-graft operatives have arrested a suspected vote-buyer in Ekiti on Saturday morning.
The suspect was caught with a bag of cash as he was “inducing voters” shortly after the governorship election came underway. He was immediately identified as an agent of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He was taken into custody at Ola Oluwa Grammar School on Ilawe Road, Ado Ekiti. Officials did not immediately provide the suspect’s name to Peoples Gazette. A spokesman for the APC in Ekiti did not return a request seeking comments.
Electoral office INEC had warned of strict enforcement of rules against cash inducement of voters while unveiling its partnership with anti-graft agencies, including the EFCC and ICPC, on Friday.
