The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent, Biodun Oyebanji, led other contestants at the polling unit of the Senate majority leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, in Saturday’s Ekiti governorship election.
The Presiding Officer, Elizabeth Oregbemeh, who announced the result, said Mr Oyebanji secured 164 votes.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Wole Oluyede, secured eight votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate, Ayodeji Ojo, had one vote.
Mr Bamidele expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election across the state, commending the impressive voter turnout.
