#EkitiDecides2026: Oyebanji leads at Senate majority leader Opeyemi Bamidele’s polling unit

Mr Oyebanji secured 164 votes, Mr Oluyede of the PDP got eight votes, while Mr Ojo, the ADP’s candidate, had one vote.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent, Biodun Oyebanji, led other contestants at the polling unit of the Senate majority leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, in Saturday’s Ekiti governorship election.


The Presiding Officer, Elizabeth Oregbemeh, who announced the result, said Mr Oyebanji secured 164 votes.


The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Wole Oluyede, secured eight votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate, Ayodeji Ojo, had one vote.


Mr Bamidele expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election across the state, commending the impressive voter turnout.


He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the smooth conduct of the election, noting that electoral officials and materials were deployed across all 16 local government areas of the state.
