El-Rufai demolishes Kaduna hotel for planning sex party

The El-Rufai administration on Thursday demolished Asher Hotel in downtown Kaduna for planning to hold a sex party this Yuletide.
The hotel in Barnawa neighbourhood was reported to be planning a sex party for December 27, according to a flyer seen on social media.
Though the party could not hold as planned on December 27 following intervention of the state government, the hotel was demolished by Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) on Thursday.
In a series of tweets and photos from the site of the demolition posted by Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority on Thursday, the state said it will not hesitate to demolish hotels that promote “immoral act”.
“KASUPDA have demolished Asher Hotel in Barnawa Kaduna South. Asher Hotel was the proposed venue for the Kaduna Sex Party, the hotel was also caught contravening the Covid-19 guidelines of the state. KASUPDA will not hesitate to demolish properties used for such immoral act”, the tweet reads.
The government did not cite any enabling law that allowed for demolition of private assets under such circumstances.
The hotel management could not be immediately reached for comments.
