Election tribunal receives 46 petitions in Enugu

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu says it has received 46 petitions from aggrieved candidates of various political parties, who participated in the recently concluded gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections.
Tribunal scribe Yusuf Folmi said that 38 of the petitions were filed by dissatisfied state legislative candidates while eight were received from aggrieved governorship candidates and parties.
He said that the tribunal was, however, yet to commence sitting over the petitions so far received.
The secretary said that the petitioners in the gubernatorial election were Christopher Edoga of the Labour Party (LP), Nnamdi Omeje of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), and Christopher Agu of the People Redemption Party (PRP).
Others include Frank Nweke of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Cosmas Okey of the Action Alliance (AA), Uche Nnaji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Action People Party (APP) and Action Alliance (AA).
The state legislative candidates who filed petitions included Onyeabor Ngwu, LP of Igbo Etiti East constituency; Agbo Amadi, PDP of Nsukka West constituency; Charles Ugwu, PDP of Igbo Etiti East constituency, and Okwudili Nnaji, LP of Nkanu East constituency, among others.
