Elon Musk launches new online encyclopedia, Grokipedia

World’s wealthiest man, Elon Musk on Monday announced the launching of a new online Encyclopedia, Grokipedia, by his xAI company.
Mr Musk after the launch promised that the new live site would only serve users the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
He said on Monday, ”The goal of Grok and Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. We will never be perfect, but we shall nonetheless strive towards that goal.”
Grokipedia, dubbed version 0.1, according to Mr Musk would be improved to a 1.0 version in the future, promising “10x better ” than the current version.
The launch of Grokipedia scheduled for September, 2025, was delayed by the businessman to “purge out propaganda”, as he once said in a separate message on X.
The new live site is set to compete with the most widely used and popular internet encyclopedia, Wikipedia, founded in 2001.
Grokipedia’s content will be generated by Artificial Intelligence and the generative AI assistant, Grok.
The space engineer who had in time past being critical of Wikipedia launched his own online encyclopedia after accusing Wikipedia of being controlled by far left activists.
In a tweet in August, the 54 year old entrepreneur said “Wikipedia cannot be used as a definitive source for Community Notes, as the editorial control there is extremely left-biased,”
On Tuesday he said, “The goal here is to create an open source, comprehensive collection of all knowledge.”
Since the launch of Grokipedia on yesterday, it has had over 885,000 articles compared to Wikipedia’s over seven million.
