Elon Musk to remove block option on Twitter

Elon Musk, the owner of the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, has hinted that the block feature on the social media platform will be a thing of the past soon.
Mr Musk, while replying to a user on his platform, said that the block feature makes no sense and would be deleted, except for direct messages.
The X user quizzed Mr Musk on the relevance of the block and the mute feature on the platform and he replied in a tweet.
“Block is going to be deleted as a feature except for Dms,” Mr Musk said.
“It makes no sense,“ he added.
Mr Musk has made some radical changes since taking over the ownership of the platform. He revolutionised the X verification process by putting a price tag on it. He also changed the name and the logo of the platform to X.
His changes to the platform generated mixed feelings among users who do not entirely agree with some of the changes.
Mark Zuckerberg of Meta launched Threads, a text-based platform hoping to mop up disgruntled users of the X platform.
Mr Musk initiated an acquisition of the platform on April 14, 2022, and concluded it on October 27, 2022.
The multi-billionaire bought the social media company for $44 billion dollars after months of negotiations.
