Nigeria’s comedy star, Emanuella Samuel, has clinched Nickelodeon’s Kid Choice Awards 2021 in the ‘Favorite African Social Media Star’ category.

Emanuella won the voting-based award at the expense of Nigeria’s Ikorodu Bois, South African magician Wian Van Den Berg, Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, Kenya’s social media sensation Elsa Majimbo, and Bonang Matheba from South Africa.

Emanuella was first nominated for the Kids Choice Awards in 2018 alongside Afrobeat star Davido. However, both of them lost to Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo.

Emmanuella is Nigeria’s biggest child YouTuber and comedian, starring in Mark Angel’s comedy skits with over six million subscribers watching. She has gone on to win several awards.

The Ikorodu Bois, made up of three brothers (Babatunde Sanni, 23, Muiz Sanni,16, Malik Sanni, 10; and their cousin, Fawas Aina, 13), are popular for remaking popular videos, earning global attention from international brands such as Mercedes Benz and Ellen Degeneres.

The brothers were invited to the world premiere of Netflix action flick ‘Extraction 2′ after they remade the first trailer.

In February, Peoples Gazette reported that Ikorodu Bois and Emmanuella were nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2021.

The award is an annual U.S. children award produced by Nickelodeon, a popular kiddies’ TV channel.

The nomination followed torrents of local and international recognition the Ikorodu Bois received for their ingenious craft.

Emmanuella, the 10-year old comedian from MarkAngel Comedy, has severally featured in stunning comedy skits.

The Ikorodu Bois was featured on Steve Harvey’s TV show which brought them more limelight. They have remade many music videos and advertisements since then.

The group got free equipment from Netflix last year to help them out in their shoots.

The 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards recognises the biggest and most entertaining stars across the world of film, television, music, sports, video games, and social media.
