Emergency responders recover two bodies at Lagos building collapse

Six persons were earlier said to have been trapped after the seven-storey building collapsed.

Emergency responders have recovered two dead bodies from the rubbles of a seven-storey building that collapsed in the early hours of Sunday in Lekki, Lagos State.

Six persons were earlier reported to have been trapped after the building collapsed.

Ibrahim Farinloye, Zonal Coordinator South West, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), revealed this to reporters on Sunday in Lagos.

Mr Farinloye said that the seven-storey building under construction collapsed at Oba Idowu Oniru Street, Lekki, and that rescue operations were ongoing.

Emergency responders at the scene included the police, NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, State Fire Service and the Lagos State Building Control Agency.
