Emir of Bichi urges Kano government to embrace mechanised farming
The Emir of Bichi, Nasir Ado Bayero, has urged the Kano State government to embrace mechanised farming to ensure massive food production in the state.
Mr Bayero made the call when he paid a Sallah homage to Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House, Kano, on Saturday.
He said that as the rainy season approaches, there is a need for the government to provide assorted farm inputs and fertiliser at subsidised rates to farmers.
Mr Bayero called on the state government to intensify efforts towards ensuring adequate means of utilising solar power to generate electricity.
He commended the state government for providing laudable developmental projects since his assumption of office barely 10 months ago.
Responding, Mr Yusuf said that since his assumption of office, his administration has worked assiduously towards providing infrastructure for the people.
“Within the first quarter of assumption, we recovered and rehabilitated the Asiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital in the municipality, while the accident and emergency section of the Muttaka Mohammad General Hospital has also been renovated up to standard,” he said.
Mr Yusuf said that one of the priorities of his administration is to uplift the standards of education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure.
