Emir of Dutse Nuhu Sanusi II is dead

Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Sanusi, a first-class monarch in North-West Nigeria, is dead.
This was confirmed by Auwalu Sankara, Senior Assistant, New Media to Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru.
In the statement by Mr Sankara, it was reported that the late Emir died around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at 78 years.
Emir Sanusi II was said to have died in a hospital in Abuja after a short illness.
By Islamic rules, the deceased body will be buried by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
Governor Badaru in the statement by his aide, sent his condolence to the royal family and people of Dutse.
He described the late monarch as a respected community figure, known for his wisdom, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of his people
Emir Sanusi II ruled for 23 years. He was enthroned in 1995 by military governor late Con. Ibrahim Aliyu after the passage of his father, Muhammed Sanusi I.
He attended Dutse Elementary School between 1952 to 1956, and proceeded to obtain a National Certificate in Education (NCE) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Business from Ohio University, US.
The late emir, who was also the former Chancellor of Sokoto State University, had a Postgraduate diploma in Project Planning and Analysis from Bradford University in the United Kingdom.
He was a recipient of an honorary Ph.D from the University of Technology in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
