Emir Sanusi asks Muslims to sustain Ramadan virtues

The emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Friday urged Muslims to sustain the spiritual lessons of Ramadan by showing compassion to the less privileged and promoting peace in the society.
The emir made the call while delivering his sermon after leading thousands of faithful in the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Kofar Mata Eid Ground in Kano.
The emir restated that the essence of Ramadan goes beyond fasting, urging the Muslim Ummah to imbibe values such as charity, patience, and self-discipline.
He called on the faithful to extend acts of kindness and generosity to the needy, particularly orphans and the vulnerable, as a way of strengthening social bonds.
The emir appealed to Muslims to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence in Kano State and across Nigeria, stressing the importance of unity and harmony in fostering national development.
He further extended his prayers for global peace and stability.
Mr Sanusi also prayed for a fruitful rainy season, expressing optimism that it would lead to a bumper harvest and improved livelihoods for farmers.
The emir charged parents and caregivers to take greater responsibility in monitoring and guiding their children, noting that proper upbringing is essential to building a morally upright and decent society.
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano, the secretary to the state government, Umar Ibrahim, and other senior government officials graced the event.
