President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said it was unfortunate that the international community jumped into conclusion and rushed to judgement in the ongoing #EndSARS protests.

The president said countries should have been patient to hear from his administration.

The president’s comments came in a recorded broadcast on Thursday night.

“To our neighbours in particular, and members of the international community, many of whom have expressed concern about the ongoing development in Nigeria, we thank you and urge you all to seek to know all the facts available before taking a position or rushing to judgement and making hasty pronouncements”, Mr. Buhari said. 

The U.S., UK, EU and other foreign countries have called for caution and urged Mr. Buhari to take urgent steps to resolve the crisis; while also pursuing justice for all victims of police brutality in the country.

The president was also advised to investigate the killing of protesters in Lagos, which his administration has so far failed to probe despite nationwide uproar.
