The Ebeano political family has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) as announced by its chairman, Chief Emmanuel Okwor.

This is coming after Chimaroke Nnamani, the senator representing Enugu east, lost his bid to seek re-election to the upper legislative chamber.

Announcing the result on Sunday, Joachim Omeje, INEC returning officer, said Kelvin Chukwu, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), secured 69,136 votes to win the election.

Mr Okwor, in a statement on Tuesday, said the alliance with APC was to consolidate the partnership with President-elect, Bola Tinubu to achieve good governance in the country.

He said members of the family across the country had been consulted and were in agreement with the alliance in the interest of the people.

The Ebeano chieftain stated that the interest and welfare of the group would be better served under the APC structure in the country.

The Ebeano political structure, founded and headed by former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, birthed in Enugu in 1999 and had produced governors of the state since then, and other elected office holders.
