The office is located at 1 Achi Street by Agric Bank Bus stop in Independence Layout, Enugu.

The police commissioner in Enugu, Mohammed Aliyu, confirmed the incident.

The commissioner, who did not respond to further questions, said he was at the scene of the incident to save the office from the fire.

When filing this report, the Enugu State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service were on the ground to put out the fire.

INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Emeka Ononamadu, did not respond to NAN’s calls for comments.

On May 9, INEC’s office at Ohafia local government area in Abia was on fire, according to the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, in a statement issued on Monday via Twitter.
