The Enugu State Ministry of Health, on Monday, felicitated Governor Peter Mbah on his 54th birthday while commending his infrastructure strides in the state’s health sector.

The commissioner for health, George Ugwu, felicitated the governor in a congratulatory message made available in Enugu.

Mr Ugwu said that the health sector, and indeed the entire beneficiaries of the state’s projects, were thankful to God for the gift of Mr Mbah, as well as his vision, commitment and investment in the health sector.

According to him, the governor’s initiative in simultaneously building primary, secondary, tertiary and international quaternary hospitals was indeed exceptional and commendable.

He noted that some of this infrastructure included, among others, significant upgrades at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) and another teaching hospital at the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMASTH).

Mr Ugwu said that Mr Mbah’s administration had implemented a digital record system in most of the health facilities, including comprehensive laboratory services and 24/7 security/perimeter fencing at hospitals and harmonious health professional relationships to combat brain drain.

“On behalf of the Ministry and the health sector, we wish you a wonderful and fulfilling 54th birthday.

“We pray that the good Lord grant you many more beautiful years ahead in good health and abundant grace as you have taken care of the health of Enugu State people.

“May the Almighty always illuminate your path, as indeed it is a new dawn for us in Enugu State. Happy birthday, Your Excellency,” he said.
