EPL: Arsenal reclaim top spot following 2-0 win over Luton at Emirates

Arsenal are back to top of the Premier League table following a comfortable 2-0 win over Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
Martin Odegaard’s goal and Daiki Hashioka’s own goal were all that mattered after full time in North London.
The victory took Arsenal’s point tally to 68 points – a point ahead of Liverpool, who will entertain Sheffield United at Anfield on Wednesday – but a win will see the Reds back on top of the table.
Odegaard opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 24th minute thanks to an assist from Kai Havertz, who poked the ball to the Norwegian inside the box and in turn wasted no time in latching the ball past the goalkeeper.
In the 44th minute, Arsenal doubled their lead from an own goal by Hashioka, who, in an attempt to stop Reiss Nelson from poaching Oleksandr Zinchenko’s cut-through pass into the box, directed the ball into his own net.
There was no real action from either team after the break but the two first-half goals were enough to secure the maximum three points for Mikel Arteta’s side, keeping the title race highly competitive.
