EPL: Nketiah, Saka power Arsenal to first season win against Nottingham Forest

Brilliant finishing from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka saw Arsenal defeat Nottingham Forest 2-1 in their first English Premier League game of the season on Saturday.
Returning from losing the title to Manchester City at the twilight of last season, the Gunners put up an impressive displace at the Emirates, beating Forest, who staged an impressive survival from relegation last season, beating Arsenal by a lone goal.
Nketiah opened scoring for the Gunners courtesy of an assist from Gabriel Martinelli 26 minutes into the game.
With Arsenal in control of the game, Saka started his season on a high note, curling in a rocket-like shot into the top corner from the left flank in the 32nd minute to double Arsenal’s lead.
Nottingham Forest returned into the second half much stronger, defending hard to prevent Arsenal from scoring.
Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, pulled one for Forest, reducing Arsenal’s lead margin in the 82nd minute. But that was not enough to save Forest from the first defeat of the season.
The summer transfer of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber added vitality to Mikel Arteta’s team.
