Etsu Nupe mourns Tijjaniya sect leader Dahiru Bauchi

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, has described the death of renowned Islamic scholar and spiritual leader of the Tijjaniya sect, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, as a big loss to the Muslim Ummah worldwide.
Mr Abubakar, in his condolence message in Minna on Thursday, described the late cleric as a fountain of knowledge and God-fearing leader who dedicated his life to propagating Islam and promoting peaceful coexistence amongst the Muslim community.
The traditional ruler extended his deepest condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, government and people of Bauchi State, and the followers of the Tijjaniya sect.
He said the passing of Mr Bauchi was not only a loss to the Tijjaniya movement but also to the entire Muslim world, stating that the reverred scholar was widely respected within and outside Nigeria.
Hghlighting the contributions of the deceased, the Etsu Nupe particularly extolled his efforts in providing scholarships, offering spiritual guidance, and expanding Islamic teachings across generations.
“The deceased was a great man by all standards. He led a long life of commitment to service and left behind a legacy of deep religious influence, especially amongst members of the Tijjaniya group,” he said.
Mr Abubakar urged the Muslim faithful to accept the cleric’s demise as the will of Allah, adding that his impactful life should be emulated.
The first class traditional ruler prayed Allah to grant the late Bauchi Aljannat Firdaus and give his family, followers, and the entire Muslim ummah the formidable fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.(NAN)
