EU invites Nigerian graduates to apply for 2026 traineeship programme

The European Union has announced and called for applications for its “funded traineeship” programme for young Nigerian graduates in 2026.
In a statement on Thursday, the European Union announced the “funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and ECOWAS.”
“We offer a traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) Section of the EU Delegation to Nigeria.
“The tentative start month is July 2026. The deadline for submitting applications is 08/05/2026,” the statement stated.
The EU called for applications from “young graduates interested in international relations, who are also curious to learn more about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Nigeria.”
According to the EU, the PPI Section of the EU Delegation is in charge of supporting the Head of Delegation in maintaining and advancing political relations with Nigeria and ECOWAS, analysing and reporting on political developments, and engaging with government and local authorities, civil society organisations, think tanks, and the media.
Interested candidates must apply to the email address Delegation-Nigeria-
Applicants must be citizens of Nigeria resident in Abuja, take into account the local health and security conditions, and be young graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), with less than one year of professional experience after graduation by the time of signing the traineeship agreement, among other qualifications.
