Everton thrash Chelsea 3-0 as Beto’s brace seals historic win

Forward Beto scored twice as Everton battered Chelsea 3-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, condemning the Blues to their fourth consecutive defeat across all competitions.
Following their ouster from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain, Saturday’s match was an opportunity for Chelsea to rebound and make progress in the battle for the European top competition next season, but it was Everton that came out triumphant.
Beto put Everton ahead in the 33rd minute when he placed a pass from James Garner beside goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who had rushed out from the line in an attempt to save the ball.
The Guinea-Bissau international doubled the lead for Everton for the hosts in the 62nd minute, firing home a shot from close range that slipped in between Sanchez’s legs.
Iliman Ndaiye sealed the win for Everton with his 76th-minute strike from an assist, marking the Toffees’ biggest victory against Chelsea in Premier League history.
The result meant that Everton moved to eighth on the table with 46 points, while Chelsea failed to capitalise on the advantage to temporarily occupy the fourth position ahead of Aston Villa.
