Ex-Arsenal player Raheem Sterling charged with dangerous driving, hearing fixed for September 15
A former England and Arsenal player, Raheem Sterling, has been charged with dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide.
Hampshire Police, in a statement on Wednesday, said that Sterling had been charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation.
The police also said the footballer was charged failing to provide a specimen.
The former England player was charged after a car crash on the motorway at M3 southbound, near Minley interchange, on May 28.
Sterling will appear before the Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court for a hearing on the charges on September 15.
The 31-year-old who currently plays for Dutch side, Feyenoord, scored 20 goals in 82 appearances for England.
In 2018, Sterling played crucial role in Gareth Southgate-led England reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and the final of Euro 2020.
