Ex-Barcelona star Carles Perez recuperating from dog attack

Former FC Barcelona player, Carles Perez, is recuperating after a dog attacked his genitals.
‎
‎The 27-year-old forward, who is currently playing on loan from Celta Vigo for Greece side, Aris Thessaloniki, was attacked by the dog while trying to break up a fight with his own dog.
‎
‎According to CBS sports on Thursday, Mr Perez required not less than six stitches for the injury and was treated at a private hospital in Panorama, Thessaloniki.
‎
‎Although the injury is not considered life-threatening, Mr Perez remains under close observations by medical professionals and may require surgery.
‎
‎He will be sidelined for weeks and unable to play in his club’s Conference League qualifier against Araz-Naxçıvan PFK. They are looking to turn a 2-1 goal deficit around in the second leg tie.
‎
‎Thessaloniki manager, Marinos Ouzounidis, confirmed that Mr Perez was set to feature in the Conference League qualifier prior to the injury but would be unable to do so due to the incident.
‎
‎”Carles would have been in the starting line-up, but this incident happened. We can’t dwell on it any longer. My mind is working on alternative solutions, and we have worked on them,” Mr Ouzounidis said.
‎
‎Mr Perez who spent eight years of his career at Barcelona is being given time to recuperate well.
