Ex-NFL player Shannon Sharpe sued for $50 million for sexual assault, battery

Former American NFL player and television personality Shannon Sharpe faces a $50 million civil lawsuit after being accused of sexual assault and battery.
According to reports, the Hall of Famer was sued on Sunday, April 20, for sexual assault and battery by a woman identified as Jane Doe.
The 13-page complaint, filed on Sunday in a Nevada state court, outlines a series of disturbing allegations against the TV analyst and details two alleged sexual assaults—one in October 2024 and another in January 2025.
In both cases, Doe said Sharpe forced himself on her despite her sobbing and pleas to stop. The second incident reportedly occurred after Sharpe promised to deliver a Christmas and birthday gift to her home.
The abuse began after Doe met Sharpe in 2023 at a gym in Los Angeles when she was 20. The relationship between her and the NFL star quickly turned toxic, as he demanded total control over her time and body.
She also alleged that he was verbally abusive and that Sharpe once threatened to kill her during an argument while a firearm was visible.
Doe claimed she tried to share her location with friends for safety, but Sharpe allegedly grabbed her by the neck and warned her never to do it again.
The woman is seeking over $50 million in damages, and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, who is in charge of her legal team, called the case “a matter of standing up to those with power, fame, and money.”
Sharpe has yet to address the allegations publicly, and no criminal charges have been filed.
