Ex-Ondo PDP governorship candidate dumps party

Mr Jegede said the resignation takes immediate effect.

Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2016 and 2020 elections in Ondo State, has resigned from the party.

Mr Jegede, in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman in Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area of the state, said the resignation takes immediate effect.

The letter, dated August 7, was obtained on Thursday by journalists in Akure.

“Kindly take this as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, effective immediately.

“I will be glad if you will kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter,” it read.
