On Friday, a Pakistani court sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan to 14 years in prison over a land corruption case, while his wife, Bushra Bibi, received seven years .

Mr Khan can appeal the judgment.

Since he was ousted from office through a vote of no confidence by parliamentarians in 2022, Mr Khan, 72, has faced a litany of court cases.

In August 2023, Mr Khan was handed a three-year jail sentence in a corruption case, a sentence that barred him from running for elective office.
