Ex-Senate president Pius Anyim’s son emerges APC consensus candidate for Ebonyi assembly

Chisom Godswill Anyim, a son of former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has been adopted as a consensus candidate for the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
He is expected to represent Ivo State Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Isiaka, the headquarters of Ivo Local Government Area at the weekend and presided over by the council chairman, Emmanuel Ajah.
According to the chairman, the adoption was unanimously agreed upon by stakeholders of the area to support a homegrown candidate.
“Yes, it is true. The whole of Ivo unanimously adopted Chisom Anyim as the consensus candidate of APC for Ivo State Constituency for next year’s general election.
“The whole Ivo people gathered and informed Senator Anyim Pius Anyim that his son will be flying our party’s ticket for the 2027 general election,” he said.
He added that aspirants in the race stepped down in support of the decision.
The development means Chisom Anyim is expected to take over from the current lawmaker representing Ivo State Constituency, Onyebuchi Ogbadu, who previously served as Ivo LGA chairman between 2020 and 2023.
