The police command in Ondo says it has arrested a man, Amos Paul, of Unaun, Upenme in Owo council area, for allegedly brutalising his 10-year-old daughter. Abayomi Jimoh, the spokesperson for the command, said this in a statement on Friday.
The command’s spokesperson said that the suspect allegedly used a hot laundry iron to burn the private parts of his daughter’s body for bedwetting.

“Upon receipt of the information, detectives from ‘A’ Division, Owo, swiftly mobilised to the scene, arrested the suspect and took him into custody.
“The case is being transferred to the gender unit for discreet investigation and further necessary action in line with established procedures,” he said.
He urged the public to promptly report cases of child abuse, domestic violence and other related offences to the nearest police station.
Mr Jimoh assured that the command would continue to ensure that offenders were brought to justice.
He reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable members of society from all forms of abuse, violence and exploitation.
