The Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Nwakuche, has appointed Christopher Jen as the substantive Controller of Corrections for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Samson Duza.

Mr Jen takes over from Olatubosun Ajibogun, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections.

He has also been redeployed to the Planning, Research and Statistics Unit at the NCoS headquarters in Abuja.

In his farewell address, Mr Ajibogun expressed gratitude to the management and staff of the FCT Command, as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and key stakeholders, for their support during his tenure.

He urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.

In his maiden address, Mr Jen called on staff and service partners to remain committed to the NCoS’s mission, expressing confidence in fostering a strong working relationship across the FCT.

Prior to his new role, Mr Jen served as directing staff at the Correctional Staff College, Barnawa, Kaduna.

He was also formerly the officer in charge of the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja.
