Ferguson rushed to hospital from Old Trafford as Man United beat Liverpool to secure Champions League spot

Manchester United have officially booked their place in the UEFA Champions League for next season after a dramatic 3-2 over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Just before kickoff, a former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was rushed to the hospital as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell inside the stadium.
Ferguson in May 2018 underwent an emergency surgery for brain haemorrhage after falling ill at home. He fully recovered and was given a standing ovation as he returned to Old Trafford in September that year.
Meanwhile, it was Matheus Cunha that opened the scoring for United when action started as his rebounded effort from a loose ball was deflected into the back of the net.
Benjamin Sesko doubled the advantage eight minutes later after goalkeeper Freddie Woodman’s clearance struck the forward’s body and went directly into the net.
However, the Red Devils lost the lead after conceding two goals only 11 minutes into the second half from players’ error to silence thousands of jubilant United fans in the stadium.
Two minutes after replacing Sesko, Amad Diallo gave away the ball inside Liverpool’s half, which Dominik Szoboszlai drove into the hosts’ box before slotting it home.
Goalkeeper Senne Lammens’ misplaced pass in the 56th minute allowed Szoboszlai to lay a pass to Cody Gakpo, who fired into an open net.
Kobbie Mainoo secured the victory for United in the 77th minute when the England international latched home a parried ball from the edge of the box just days after signing a five-year contract extension at Old Trafford.
