FG declares dates for Easter holiday, says security is everyone’s business
Federal authorities have declared Friday and Monday, April 2 and 5 respectively, as public holidays to mark the 2021 Easter celebration.
In a statement signed by Mohammed Manga, a spokesman in the nation’s interior ministry, Minister Rauf Aregbesola enjoined all Christians to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria as they celebrate.
He noted that security is everyone’s concern and urged Nigerians to cooperate with the federal government.
“Security is everybody’s business, I therefore encourage all Nigerians and foreigners resident in Nigeria, to display high level of patriotism at this critical time in the history of our country, to support the efforts of all security agencies in ensuring peace and security of lives and property of the citizenry,” he said.
The minister added that the federal government will leave no stone unturned in dealing with insecurity in every parts of Nigeria.
“The federal government will leave no stone unturned in dealing decisively with the spate of kidnapping, armed banditry and other crimes and criminality being perpetrated by enemies of the country in parts of Nigeria”, he said.
