Fintiri inaugurates delegation for 2026 Christian pilgrimage

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has inaugurated a delegation to coordinate and supervise the 2026 Christian pilgrimage to Israel.
Mr Fintiri said the delegation would work to ensure a smooth, safe and purposeful pilgrimage for Christians from the state.
Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor’s chief press secretary, announced this in a statement in Yola on Friday.
He stated that “the delegation is chaired by the Gubo Yungur, His Royal Majesty Johnson Diyo Matalo, while Dr Bartholomew Nyalas will serve as secretary.
“Other members are Sen. Rev. Amos Yohanna, Mr Japhet Hammajabu, Mr Samuel Chinda and Rev. Fr. Anselm Kachalla.”
He quoted the governor as congratulating members on the appointment and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, discipline and a high sense of responsibility.
The governor also urged the delegation to project a positive image of Adamawa throughout the pilgrimage and ensure that the exercise was conducted with dignity.
Mr Fintiri directed the committee to work closely with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) and other relevant authorities to guarantee the welfare, safety and effective coordination of pilgrims.
He charged the delegation with remaining transparent and accountable while ensuring that the spiritual objectives of the pilgrimage were achieved.
The governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote religious harmony, peaceful coexistence and moral values.
