Fire guts BUK staff primary school buildings

The Kano fire service said it was investigating the cause of the fire.

Kano State Fire Service said fire had destroyed a store and toilet at the Staff Primary School, Bayero University Kano (BUK) old site in Kano.

This is contained in a statement by the fire service spokesman Saminu Abdullahi on Wednesday in Kano.

The statement said the incident occurred on Tuesday evening.

“We received a distress call at about 5:53 p.m. from one Halliru Bello and immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 5:58 p.m to stop fire from spreading to the other classes,” the fire service explained.

It added, “A ground floor building of about 200 by 200ft used as a staff children primary school, one block containing Headmaster’s office, men staff room, women staff room where slightly burnt while one store and one toilet was completely razed by the inferno.”

The Kano fire service said it was investigating the cause of the fire.
