Kano State Fire Service says a fire has razed 37 shops at Zawaciki in Kumbotso LGA.
The spokesman for the service, Saminu Abdullahi, said the fire occurred about 1:37 a.m. on Wednesday.
Mr Abdullahi said, “We received a distress call at about 1:37 a.m. from one Malam Baba that there was a fire outbreak at Zawaciki.
“We quickly mobilised our personnel to the scene at about 1:47 a.m. and put out the fire so as not to spread to other shops.”
Mr Abdullahi said the 37 shops were on the ground floor of a multi-purpose building.
He added that the fire slightly damaged three other shops.
He said no life was lost, and the cause of the fire was being investigated.
