Flynas airlifted 50% of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in one week: Spokesperson

A Saudi-designated Nigerian Hajj air carrier, Flynas, has transported 6,228 pilgrims representing 50 per cent of the 12,506 to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within one week.
The airline’s Information Officer, Umma Salama Kyaure, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
According to Ms Kyaure, Flynas has transported 6,228 pilgrims to Madinah, representing 50 per cent of the 12,506 allocated to it by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
“The airline has transported pilgrims from three of its four stations in Nigeria namely: Kebbi, Sokoto and Lagos. The airline, which deployed nine aircraft for the operation, was allocated pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory, Kebbi, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Sokoto, and Zamfara states,” she said.
Ms Kyaure said that Flynas had conducted 15 flights so far, seven from Lagos, six from Kebbi State and two from Sokoto State.
“The breakdown of the over 6,000 pilgrims airlifted so far are Lagos/Osun/Ogun 2,131, Kebbi 2,561 and Sokoto/Zamfara 848,” she said.
She said that the airline would begin the airlift of FCT pilgrims on May17.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director, First Planet Travels and General Sales Agent (GSA) of Flynas in Nigeria, Umar Kaila, assured pilgrims of excellent services throughout the operation.
Mr Kaila also thanked NAHCON, NCAA, FAAN, pilgrims’ boards and commissions of Lagos, Osun, Ogun, FCT, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states for their cooperation and making the operation seamless and hitch-free.
