Former lawmaker urges full support for Lagos assembly’s new speaker

Oluyinka Ogundimu, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (Agege Constituency II), has congratulated its newly elected Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, on her new achievement and urged her to deepen its glory.
Mr Ogundimu, in a statement on Wednesday, described Mrs Meranda’s emergence as well deserved.
He added that the overwhelming vote she got from her colleagues attested to the confidence they reposed in her.
“That you were overwhelmingly voted for by your colleagues to lead them is a confirmation of their belief in your ability and capacity to lead them.
“And having related, interacted and worked with you closely in the eighth and ninth assemblies, I have no doubt that you have the ability to restore the assembly’s glory.
“I am sure you will return the house to its status of being above common standard of excellence,” Mr Ogundimu stated.
He urged the lawmakers to rally round the new speaker, support her and cooperate with her to make the assembly great again.
“It’s your collective responsibility to join hands with the new speaker to restore the dignity of the house,” he added.
