Former PDP senator receives APC membership card in Kaduna

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has formally presented a party membership card to Sen. Sunday Marshall Katung (APC- Kaduna South).
This is contained in a statement signed by Joseph Midat, special adviser, media and communications to the senator and made available to journalists on Saturday in Kaduna.
Mr Midat said the move followed Mr Katung’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The presentation was made by the APC chairman of Madakiya Ward in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Alfred Diriya.
Speaking at the event, Mr Katung said his decision to join the APC was aimed at re-energising the party and contributing meaningfully to its electoral success.
He said: “Our intention is to add value and ensure that the party wins all forthcoming elections.”
The senator described the APC as an inclusive party that had come to stay.
He added that his defection was informed by what he described as the positive impact of President Bola Tinubu’s administration on the people of Kaduna South Senatorial District.
He urged the people of Southern Kaduna to unite and support the APC to foster development in the area.
“I am using this opportunity to call on everyone to join hands with us to develop Southern Kaduna together,” Mr Katung called.
