Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh’s brother Uche dies
Uche Oliseh, the younger brother of the ex-Nigerian footballer Sunday Oliseh, is dead.
Mr Oliseh was 51.
This was announced in a statement by the deceased’s family on Saturday.
“With heavy hearts, the family of Cosmas Oliseh announces the passing of our beloved son, brother, and father, Uche Levi Oliseh, who departed this life on Thursday, 17th July, 2025, at the age of 51, following a brief illness,” the statement said.
The statement described Mr Uche as a cherished member of the Oliseh family, saying the deceased was survived by four children and family members.
While expressing gratitude to people for their show of love, the family said details of Mr Uche’s burial would be announced in due course.
“The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and asks for continued prayers as we mourn this profound loss. Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be announced in due course”, the family’s statement added.
In a statement, Sunday Oliseh lamented how much he would miss his late brother and described death in unprintable terms.
