The Regalo Hope Foundation (RHF), on Saturday, marked the 2025 World Teachers’ Day with a seminar celebrating teachers’ resilience and unveiling its 2026 EduStake Conference and Educators’ Award.

The seminar, held in Igando, Lagos, gathered over 50 teachers and proprietors from public and private schools for practical sessions on the theme ‘Techniques for Structured Classroom.’

The 2025 World Teachers’ Day, with the theme ‘Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,’ highlights the importance of teamwork to strengthen teacher development and improve education outcomes.

Chinenye Onuorah, RHF founder, said the seminar aimed to expose educators to leadership and project management, empowering them to drive positive change in their schools.

She described the event as an opportunity for teachers to gain renewed knowledge and energy, while being inducted into the Teachers’ Leadership Academy (TLA), an RHF initiative for professional growth.

“This year’s theme underscores the need for collaboration among teachers, parents, and communities in unlocking learners’ potential and reshaping education in Nigeria,” she said.

Ms Onuorah congratulated new TLA inductees, describing them as visionary educators dedicated to leadership, innovation, and lifelong impact in the teaching profession.

“Beyond the chalkboard, your integrity, kindness, and professionalism shape lives in ways that transcend academics,” she added.

She revealed that preparations had begun for the 2026 EduStake Conference in Alimosho, which would serve as a dialogue platform for education stakeholders.

According to her, highlights of the event would include the Educators’ Award, featuring the Legend’s Award for teachers with over 25 years’ service and Heroes Awards for outstanding TLA associates.

“These awards show that excellence and innovation in teaching are valued and celebrated,” she said.

Amusu Rehanat, a certified project management professional, described teachers as nation-builders, stressing the need for structured classroom leadership and effective project management.

She said structured classrooms improve engagement, support learning, and enhance outcomes, while strong leadership equips teachers to manage challenges and achieve success.

“Every profession begins with a teacher. A structured classroom supports effective teaching and strengthens participation,” Ms Rehanat said.

RHF communication manager, Oreoluwa Abiodun, urged collaboration among government, NGOs, and parents to boost education quality and children’s holistic development.

“Parents must not abandon their role to teachers; they should monitor schoolwork, ensure assignments are done, and instil sound morals,” she advised.

Olaniyan Victoria, a participant, urged society to value teachers as parents, counsellors, and first responders shaping students’ futures through innovative teaching methods.

“Intentional and creative teaching now defines education’s future beyond conventional methods,” Ms Olaniyan said.

Another participant, Elijah Akhabigimhe, said a teacher’s greatest joy is seeing students succeed in life, urging educators to teach passionately and inspire lasting achievement.

Similarly, Gene Lilian, also a participant, called for continuous teacher development and government investment in Artificial Intelligence training and education awareness.

“Teachers must constantly update themselves to remain relevant in today’s evolving learning environment,” she added.
