Four killed in auto crash at Benue NYSC Camp

Four persons have been confirmed dead in a road accident in Makurdi on Thursday.

The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue, Yakubu Mohammed, said that the accident occurred at 11:48 a.m. at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp, Wannune, in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue.

He said that 15 people were injured.

He said that both the injured and the dead had been taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital and NKST Hospital both in Wannune.

“Only one vehicle was involved, a Toyota Hiace which was carrying 19 people.

“Out of the number 18 persons are females and one male adult.

“The cause of the accident is speeding,” Mr Mohammed said.
