The Bauchi State police command has arrested suspects in three separate cases involving alleged culpable homicide, criminal conspiracy and foeticide in the Kirfi and Ningi Local Government Areas.

The command disclosed this in a statement on Saturday by its spokesperson, Nafi’u Habib.

He stated that on Friday at about 7: 46 p.m, a report was received from Ward Head in Gida Dubu area, Bauchi, that a misunderstanding ensued between one Abubakar Hud, 19 and one Hassan Adamu at the latter’s residence, which degenerated into exchange of blows.

“The parties were separated and the victim left the scene.

“Subsequently, at about 1745hrs, the victim fell unconscious and was rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi by his relatives, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor,” Mr Habib said.

He said that officers from ‘C’ Division immediately visited the scene of crime and the hospital, adding that the corpse was examined by a medical doctor, photographed, and released to the family for burial.

He stated that the suspect was trailed, arrested and under investigation.

Mr Habib said in another incident on Thursday at about 10: 00 p.m, a report from Shango police outpost indicated that one Muhammad Bello, a village head in Kirfi, reported that a dispute over farmland between one Haruna Bala, 25 and one Audu Babangida 22 years, both residents of Kafin Sarkin Yaki Village escalated into a fight.

“In the process, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim on the neck with a knife,” he said.

He noted that the victim was rushed to General Hospital Kirfi, where he was confirmed dead, saying that the corpse was released to the relatives for burial according to Islamic rites.

“Following an intensive intelligence-led manhunt, operatives of Kirfi Division on 18/09/2026 at about 1100hrs arrested the fleeing suspect at River Kafin Iya while attempting to cross to Gombe State. The exhibit (knife) was recovered,” he said.

The police added that in Ningi, they arrested two men, Aminu Jibrin and Salihu Mohammed, over alleged criminal conspiracy and foeticide.

The command said the arrests followed information received from a human rights activist.

Mr Habib said that Mr Jibrin, a resident of Burra District, conspired with Mr Mohammed, 25, a chemist shop operator from Sabuwar Tiffi, to unlawfully administer substances to a 22-year-old woman, Hauwa’u Yakubu, which allegedly induced and terminated her pregnancy.

He said, “Operatives of Ningi Division have arrested the duo of Aminu Jibrin and Salihu Moh’d, for alleged criminal conspiracy and killing of an unborn child.”
