In his welcome address, Director-General of FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama, highlighted the significance of the event which he said brings christians from different parts of Nigeria, to sing in honour of Jesus Christ.
Mr Bulama, represented by FRCN’s Director of Programmes, Msurshima Kighir, also announced that the News Agency of Nigeria will join the three organisations to organise the annual programme from 2026.
“At this point, let me announce that by God’s grace, the News Agency of Nigeria is going to join the three organisations to organise this annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.
“This year’s theme, “Jesus Our Strength,” was drawn from Philippians 4:13 and it aims to encourage Nigerians to find strength in Jesus Christ despite the challenges they face.
“This is a task that the three organisations have undertaken every year to the glory of God, and we pledge that we will continue this in Jesus’ name. Despite the challenges we are facing in our nation today, it is our prayer that Jesus will indeed be our strength. And by this theme, we hereby declare that it is well with Nigeria in Jesus’ name,” he said.
He affirmed the commitment of the founding organisations of FRCN, NTA, and VON to the success of the annual tradition.
The DG expressed gratitude to guests for attending the occasion and prayed for God’s blessings on Nigeria.
The inclusion of NAN for the 2026 event, marks a significant consolidation of efforts by national media, in fostering unity and celebrating the festive season.
