The Federal Road Safety Corps has won the para-military football tournament by defeating Nigeria Police by 2- 0 at the final match played on Saturday in Kaduna.
The 10-day football tournament was organised by FRSC to celebrate the corps marshal’s 100 days in office. The paramilitary agencies that participated in the maiden edition of the tournament included the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Fire Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Others were the Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service and the Federal Road Safety Corps. The NSCDC came in third position by defeating NCS 3-0.
The Sector Commander, FRSC Kaduna Command, Kabir Nadabo, said that in any game there must be a winner and loser.
He said, “The winning team has shown how committed it is to win the tournament.”
Mr Nadabo said that the tournament was also to foster more synergy among sister security agencies. He assured that the tournament would be held every year.
