FRSC warns against indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roads

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned that the indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roads could result in accidents and fatalities.
Anthony Uga, the FRSC sector commander in Ogun, gave the warning in an interview with journalists in Sango-Ota on Monday.
Mr Uga said the warning had become necessary as such practices have become more rampant and endanger motorists plying the roads.
He said that, apart from the health implications, the dumping of refuse on roads could also result in accidents and fatalities.
The sector commander said the FRSC would partner with the Ogun State Environment Protection Agency (OSEPA) to monitor and bring offenders to book.
“We are going to discuss this with OSEPA to ensure that the unwarranted practice by the public is put to an end,” Mr Uga said.
