Fubara-Wike Fight: Rivers attorney general Zacchaeus Adangor resigns

Rivers attorney general and commissioner for justice, Zacheaus Adangor, has tendered his resignation.
He disclosed this in a letter dated November 14, 2023, and addressed to Governor Sim Fubara.
He was one of the cabinet members of ex-Governor Nyesom Wike (now the minister of the Federal Capital Territory) and was re-appointed by Mr Fubara.
Mr Adangor noted that his resignation was not due to the political crisis in Rivers but based on his personal principles.
“I hereby give Your Excellency Notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter. For the avoidance of doubt, from the said office is based on personal principles,” stated Mr Adangor.
He added, “I wish to thank Your Excellency for the opportunity and privilege granted me to serve in your administration as a member of the cabinet. My Family and I are indebted to Your Excellency in gratitude.”
Mr Adangor’s resignation came a day after the Rivers governor demolished the complex of the state’s House of Assembly.
The incumbent governor has been at loggerheads with his predecessor and godfather, Mr Wike.
