The party said its campaign council would coordinate a “people-centred and issue-based campaign” for its presidential candidates ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election, adding, “The National Campaign Council will provide strategic leadership, coordinate campaign activities across the country, and drive the mobilisation of Nigerians behind the party’s vision of a new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.”
While Seriake Dickson, the party’s founder and national leader, chairs the council, Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, will serve as co-chairman. Cleopas Zuwoghe will serve as the NDC national chairman, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s vice-presidential candidate, will serve as vice-chairman and co-vice-chairman, respectively.
