Nigerian athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as Africa’s highest-ranked nation, with an overall tally of 24 medals.

The country’s 72 athletes, which comprise 34 men and 38 women, competed across eight sports categories, with standout performances in athletics, weightlifting, and para powerlifting in their campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Team Nigeria secured ten gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals through remarkable outings by Samuel Ogazi, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume, Rafiatu Lawal, Edidiong Umoafia, Folashade Oluwafemiayo, Ella Onojuvwevwo and others.
